Ljuben Kocev was born in Skopje. He attended Rade Jovcevski Korcagin High School. He obtained his LL.B. and LL.M. at the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law in Skopje. In the academic 2016-2017 he was granted a full scholarship to attend the Master of Law and Business at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany, where he obtained his second LL.M with specialization in International Arbitration. He is currently enrolled at PhD studies at the Doctoral School of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He has worked in domestic law firms, and he was also an intern at Hogan Lovells LP in Munich, Germany. From December of 2017 he has been working as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje. He is involved in numerous activities, most notably he participates annually at the Willem C. Vis Moot for International Commercial Arbitration in Vienna, where in 2015 as a student-participant he received individual and team awards. From 2015 onwards he is actively involved in the preparations of the team of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University for the competition and also as an arbitrator. He is a member of the London School of Economics academic network for the CEFTA region. He has conducted academic and research stays in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, China. He has published a number of articles as an author and co-author, and has participated in domestic and international conferences.
