Course objectives (competences): The purpose of the Small Business Management course is to enable students to acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of small business management and specific skills for applying this knowledge in practice. To achieve these goals, the course program will elaborate on the theoretical aspects of small business management and then focus on their practical application. 

By adopting the knowledge of this course program, students will be able to: 

  • Understand the conceptual meaning, meaning and content of the small business management entity in Macedonia, the EU and the United States; 
  • Apply the knowledge gained about the franchise;
  • Develop the ability to assess the role of small business in the economy through economic indicators; 
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of starting your own business;
  • Apply knowledge and understanding in determining the elements of the content of a small business plan and its preparation; 
  • Develop the ability to identify the differences between a small business owner /manager and an entrepreneur.
