Course objectives (competencies): Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Prepare managerial decisions about the moment, nature and depth of the need for change in the organization;
  • Recognize and manage the instigators and opponents of change at the individual, group / team and organizational level;
  • Develop managerial skills and abilities for each stage of the change management process;
  • Understand the fundamental differences between evolutionary and revolutionary approaches to managing organizational change;
  • Understand the different uses of change management strategies and tactics, according to the phase of the life cycle and the relationship with the external environment; 
  • Master the use of information technologies and social responsibility in managing change;
  • Recognize the inter-connection and interdependence of change management and organizational development.
Course content: Defining and character of change management. Evolutionary thinking about organizational change. The role of managers in change management. Individual, group / team and organizational change. Promoters and opponents of change in organizations. Basic management approaches to change. Change management process. Change management strategies and tactics. Information technologies in the function of change management. Culture, politics and leadership change in organizations. Social responsibility and change. Corporate change management. Change and organizational development.
