Course objectives (competences):

After completing this course, students should:

1.       understand the functions performed by money along with the nature of different monetary regimes,

2.      understand the practical definition of money as well as the process of money creation,

3.      be familiar with the contemporary achievements in monetary theory,

4.      obtain insight into the practical issues of conducting monetary policy, thus being able to analyse the effects of various monetary policy instruments,

5.      acquire knowledge about the recent monetary history of Macedonia.
