Marina Trpeska (born Serafimoska) graduated from the Department of Accounting and Auditing, Faculty of Economics – Skopje, UKIM. In 2008 she received her master degree from London College, University College of Kensington, London, UK and obtained a MSc in Accounting and Finance. Since August 2007, she has been on a one-year study visit as a visiting scholar in the United States at George Washington University, School of Accountancy, Washington, DC. In 2013 she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje in the field of performance measurement systems. From September 2003 to January 2005, she has worked at the Ministry of Finance, Treasury Department. In January 2005 she was elected as a Junior teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics, Department of Accounting and Auditing, and in December 2008 she was elected as an Teaching assistant in a group of accounting courses. In 2013, she was elected as an Assistant professor for the courses Cost Accounting and Management Accounting at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje. In June 2018, she was elected as an Associate professor of Principles of Accounting and Management Accounting.
She co-authored the book Principles of Accounting (2019). Also she is author or co-author of numerous papers in the field of accounting and auditing. In addition to her regular activities at the faculty, she works on numerous scientific and practical projects, participates in conferences, symposiums and workshops in the field, and also reviews papers for international journals and conferences.

Projects and other professional activities
- Team leader of the modules Budgeting and Internal Audit for the training of municipal councilors funded by UNDP and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
- Performed PEFA methodology for assessing public financial management of selected municipalities in 2015 and 2017 as part of the projects Strengthening municipal councils supported by UNDP and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Good governance of local democracy and civic participation at the level at the local government level supported by Civica Mobilitas and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
- Participate in the translation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA), as well as the IFAC Code of Ethics.
- Team leader of the modules Management Accounting (at the Diploma level) and Financial Management (at the Certificate level) for cesrtification of Certified Public Sector Accountant and the module Financial Reporting for the acquisition of the title Certified Internal Auditor in the Public Sector organized by CEF Ljubljana, Slovenia.
