Course objectives (competences): After completing the course and passing the exam, students should be able to:  

·         understand the power of data and to find opportunity in the numbers that can be used to generate competitive advantage;

·         understand how managers /decision makers use data and business analytics in order to solve business problems they face in the organizations, and to make better decisions;

·         use a variety of analytical methods and techniques in business decision making, and

·         use Excel, Excel add-ins and software tools to visualize data and to solve real complex business problems.

Course content:

The aim of this course is to prepare students with the right skills to make data-driven decisions and to lead in analytics-driven organizations. They will work on real data sets and extensively will use software tools. Topics include the types of business analytics: descriptive, prescriptive and predictive. The emphasis of the course will be on interpretation and communication of the obtained results from different types of models.
