Course objectives (competences): 

After completing this course, students should be able to: 

  • Comprehend and use the INCOTEMRS Rules;
  • Understand the characteristics of the methods for international transport of goods, including insurance of the goods in international transport;
  • Understand the basic documents which are used in international transactions;
  • Understand the foreign payment instruments.
Course content:

The essence of this course is detailed elaboration of the operational part of international trade transactions. At the outset, the course analyzes the methods and types of international transport, freight forwarding and freight insurance.  Essential part of the international trade transactions is the understanding of the necessary documentation for realization of the transactions as well as the forms and instruments of international payment. The course also deals with special foreign trade matters, the basic principles of e-commerce and the latest changes in customs operations: the introduction of simplified customs procedures and the undertaking of measures for promoting paperless trade.
