Zorica Bozhinovska Lazarevska received her Masters Degree in 1993 from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.In 1999 she received her PhD at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje when she was elected Assistant Professor of Auditing.In 2004 she was elected Associate Professor, and in 2009 she was appointed Full Professor in the subjects of Auditing, Principles of Accounting and Internal Audit.
In the second cycle of studies she is engaged in a study program – Accounting and Auditing where she teaches subjects: Audit, State Audit and Fraud Examination.
In the third cycle of studies she teaches Audit and Assurance.
She was Vice Dean of Finance at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje in the period 2005-2010.She has been Head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing since 2013. Since 2013 she is Head of the second cycle of studies in the program Accounting and Auditing. As a certified auditor in the period 2005-2011 she was a member of the Council for Advancement and Oversight of Audit, she was re-elected member of the Council for Advancement and Oversight of Audit for the period 2012 – 2017. From 2006 to 2012 she was appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee of Stopanska Banka AD Skopje.

She has published more than 90 papers, most of which are from international conferences held in Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa.
She has had several study visits abroad: study stay at Arizona State University, USA, 1995; Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands, 1996; University of Wolverhampton, England, 1998; Northern Illinois University, De Kalb, Illinois, USA, 1999; University of Gent, Belgium, 2000, 2001; University Deusto, Bilbao, Spain, 2000 and 2001; University of Iceland, Reykjavik, Iceland, 2005; Institute of Management des Enterprises de Paris University of Paris I – Pantheon Sorbonne (IAE), Paris, France, 2008; Hogeschool – Westlaanderen, Bruges, Belgium.
She participated in the realization of the following significant projects: TEMPUS Euro dimension of Accounting Education in the Republic of Macedonia, 2000-2001; TEMPUS – Postgraduate Project Development in E-Business – Distance Learning Management MEMFES, 2008; REPARIS, World Bank Regional Project, 2009-2011; CIPFA and CEF 2008 Public Sector Accountants Training Project, CIPFA and CEF 2013 and 2014 Public Sector Internal Auditors Training Project.
