Chair of Accounting and auditing
Ivan Dionisijev was born in Skopje on August 27, 1991, where he completed his primary, secondary, and higher education. He completed his secondary education at “Orce Nikolov” High School in a bilingual French class. During his secondary education, he participated in a successful student exchange project in the Republic of France and also earned a Diploma for passing the French graduation.
After completing high school, he continued his education at the Department of Accounting and Auditing at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Faculty of Economics – Skopje. He graduated in June 2013 with an average grade of 9.4. In 2013, he enrolled in the second cycle of studies at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje in the field of accounting, which he completed in April 2017 by successfully defending his master’s thesis on the topic: “Public Internal Financial Control in the Republic of Macedonia.”
On November 12, 2013, he was employed at the State Audit Office for the position of junior auditor for the audit of the economy, budget beneficiaries, individual beneficiaries, and commercial companies. As part of the State Audit Office, he participated in the project “Implementation of the Audit Management System (AMS) MAK-12/015,” implemented with the technical assistance of the Office of the Auditor General of Norway (2013-2017). He was also part of the twinning project “Further strengthening of the capacities and efficiency of the State Audit Office for performing external audit MK 13 IPA FI 01 17R.” While working at the State Audit Office, he actively moderated workshops at the second and third youth conferences organized by EUROSAI in Jerusalem and Tallinn, as well as participated in a seminar on the formation of a working group for the audit of municipalities at EUROSAI in Warsaw.
On December 27, 2019, he was hired at the Faculty of Economics – Skopje as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the scientific field of accounting. From the day of his employment at the faculty until today, he has participated in more than 15 international academic and professional conferences, presenting papers in the field. Notable among these are the 45th and 44th Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) in Helsinki and Bergen, a workshop of the European Group on Public Administration (EGPA) in Zagreb, the 18th International Accounting and Management Information Systems Conference (AMIS) in Bucharest, and the first International Contemporary Financial Management Conference (CFMC) in Belgrade. He authored more than 20 scientific papers published in international scientific journals indexed in renowned world databases. In 2022, he completed a study stay at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb.
Ivan is a part of a two-year program for the development of young researchers organized by the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) from the USA and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) from England.
In addition to his extensive academic experience, he participates in several international projects as a consultant/expert. The most significant of these are “Efficient Public Sector Asset Management (EPSAM)” and “Public Accountants Certification Program (PACT),” sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and implemented through the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) of Slovenia.
In 2021, Ivan was engaged as an individual consultant by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) of England.
